The type of water system to be used is dependant on many factors. These include species to be housed, water source, correction needs, space availability, automation level and budget.  The PRL Aquatics Team will help determine and design which system will best suit your needs.

The following is a description of the various water delivery systems available through Pharmacal Research Labs.

Types of Water Delivery Systems 

	Constant Flow-Through System Draws water from a domestic source through mechanical and chemical filtration, mixes it to the correct temperature, sends it to the animal tanks and then down the drain.
	Timed Flow-Through System Creates an environment with the advantages of both static and  flow-through systems. Ideal choice for Xenopus leavis (see also Basic Reservoir & Custom Reservoir Systems)
	Re-Circulating System Closed loop system which constantly circulates water from the animal tanks, to the life support system and back to the tanks. It may require a Supply Water System to provide nitrate removal exchanges. (see also Basic Reservoir System & Custom Reservoir System)
	Basic Reservoir System Water is drawn from a domestic source through mechanical/chemical filtration, then delivered to a holding reservoir for temperature adjustment. It can be used as a Timed Flow-Through System or as a Supply System to Re-circulating Units.
	Custom Reservoir System An expanded version of the Basic Reservoir System, this reservoir system can be customized for specific water correction needs. It can be used as a Timed Flow-Through System or as a Supply System to Re-circulating Units.
